The Arkansas St. Red Wolves remained in sole possession of first-place atop the Sun Belt Conference standings, by defeating Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, 31-20, on Saturday afternoon, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The Red Wolves jumped out to a 20-0 lead, and that deficit turned out to be too much for the Cajuns to overcome.

Arkansas St. only outgained UL, 397-314, in terms of total offense, but the Cajuns failed to protect the football, turning it over five times, including four interceptions, and one fumble.

For the Red Wolves, quarterback Ryan Aplin led the way, passing for 226 yards, and two touchdowns, while running for 70 more yards, and one score.

In a losing cause for the Cajuns, quarterback Blaine Gauthier passed for 206 yards, with 53 rushing yards.

With the win, Arkansas St. improved to 8-2 overall, and remain unbeaten in conference play, at 6-0, while UL fell to 8-3 overall, and concluded their conference schedule, with a 6-2 league mark.

After a bye week next week, the Cajuns wrap-up their 2011 regular season schedule on Saturday, November 26, as they travel to Tucson, Arizona, to take on the Arizona Wildcats, in non-conference action.
