Cajuns Fall To Oklahoma St., 65-24
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team suffered their first loss of the 2012 college football season on Saturday, falling 65-24 to the Oklahoma St. Cowboys in non-conference action in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma St. led the game, 17-0 at the end of the first quarter, 44-0 at the half, and then coasted to the 41-point win.
The Cowboys outgained the Cajuns in terms of total offense, 742-376.
Back-up quarterback J.W. Walsh paced the Oklahoma St. offensive attack. The redshirt freshman, who replaced injured starter Wes Lunt early in the first quarter, completed 31-of-40 passes for 347 yards, along with four touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Blaine Gautier led Louisiana in a losing cause, completing 16-of-31 passes for 236 yards, along with a touchdown. Gautier also rushed for a score.
With the win, Oklahoma St. improved to 2-1 on the year, while UL dropped to 2-1.
The Cajuns are off next week, before returning to action on Saturday, September 29, when they host the FIU Panthers at Cajun Field.
