Cajuns Fall Short at Kent State 76-67
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns went ice cold over the final five minutes Monday night and fell to Kent State
76-67 at the Memorial Athletic Convocation Center in Kent, Ohio.
Louisiana (3-5) fought tooth and nail with the favorites in the Mid-America Conference, but after Kadeem Coleby gave the Cajuns a 66-64 lead with a monstrous dunk with 5:22 to go, the Cajuns wouldn't score again until a free throw with :16 left.
By that time the Golden Flashes (3-1) had the game under control.
Coleby led the way for the Cajuns with 19 points. Darshawn McClellan added a career-high 17 and Josh Brown, seeing his first action after suffering a concussion last Saturday against Cal State-Fullerton, added 16 points in 23 minutes.
The Cajuns played without leading scorer J. J. Thomas, who missed the game after aggravating a knee injury. He will be evaluated by a doctor when the Cajuns return to Lafayette.
Louisiana takes on McNeese State Thursday night at the Cajundome.
