The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football  team returns to the gridiron on Saturday afternoon, playing host to the New Mexico St. Aggies in a pivotal Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The homecoming game will also represent the Cajuns' return to Cajun Field,

This will be the first game at Cajun Field since an October 12th UL win over Texas St., and the first Saturday home game since September 23, when the Cajuns fell in double-overtime to ULM, 56-50.

Louisiana is currently 4-5, overall, and 3-2 in Sun Belt Conference play, while New Mexico St. is 4-5, and 2-3, respectively.

Both teams need two wins to become bowl eligible.

During halftime of Saturday's game, the UL Athletics Hall of Fame will recognize its 2017 class, including Lacey Bertucci Sharp, Dion Brown, JoJo Harris, Jonathan Lucroy and the late Kim Perrot. Also during halftime, three former UL Athletics administrators – Sherry LeBas, Danny Cottonham and John Porche will be recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Weather-wise, things are a little iffy.

Saturday should start off nice, but cloudy skies will become the norm, with rain chances increasing throughout the course of the afternoon.

There's a 25% chance of rain at 2 o'clock, which will increase to a 30% chance at 3 pm, and then a 40% chance of the wet stuff at 5 o'clock.

Look for an afternoon high in the upper 70's, with temperatures falling into the upper 60's by 8 pm.
