Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Thursday night, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Texas St. Bobcats in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at the Cajundome.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:15 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, as well as our sister-station, Hot 107.9 & 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.

The match-up will be the back-end of a women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Texas St. at 5 o’clock.

Louisiana, who is coming off of an 84-80 road win over Troy on Saturday, is 14-12, overall, and 8-7 in league play, while Texas St., who fell to Georgia Southern, 53-41, on Saturday, is currently 11-13, overall, and 5-10 in Sun Belt Conference play.

UL currently sits in fifth-place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, while Texas St. is tied for seventh.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 78.9/72.0, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 46.3%/43.8%, and holding down a 39.3/33.6 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 17.3 ppg, and 10.2 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 10.5 points, to go along with 3.8 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is 9-3 at home this season, including a 4-3 conference home mark.

The Bobcats are being out-scoring the opposition, 62.4/59.6, while being out-shot by foes from the field, 41.2%/40.6%, and out-rebounded, 34.3/32.9.

Texas St. is paced by junior forward Emani Gant, who is averaging 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds-per-game, along with junior forward Cameron Naylor, who is averaging 8.1 points, to go along with 5.1 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana won the first meeting between the two squads earlier this year, defeating Texas St., 72-63, back on January 31 in San Marcos, Texas.
