Cajuns Entertain Nicholls Tonight

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns wrap up their four game homestand tonight when they host Nicholls State at M. L. Tigue Moore Field at Russo Park.

Game time is at 6:00 pm and can be heard on ESPN1420 with air time at 5:30.

The Cajuns are 16-12 after winning their Sun Belt Conference series against South Alabama over the weekend.  Nicholls is 17-12 and 5-4 in the Southland Conference.  The Colonels stepped out of conference play over the weekend, taking two out of three from Texas Southern in Thibodaux.

The Cajuns are looking for their first midweek home victory at Russo Park, having lost to Houston and Tulane previously.

Redshirt freshman Jack Burk (1-3, 2.08 ERA) will get the start for the Cajuns.  Burk's first collegiate start came against the Colonels on Feb. 21st, a 3-1 loss.  He pitched three innings, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts.  Lefty Alex Ernestine (1-0, 3.95) will get the start for the Colonels, who are 2-6 on the road this season.

The Cajuns get back into conference play this weekend when they travel to Conway, SC to take on the defending national champion Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.  The series begins Friday at 5:00 pm Central time.
