The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns celebrate Easter Weekend at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field as they take on league newcomer Georgia Southern in a three game Sun Belt Conference series.

It's the first ever meetings between the two schools.

Game times are scheduled for 6pm Friday, 6pm Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday.

Louisiana (15-11, 7-4 Sun Belt) is playing its second consecutive home series after taking two of three from Arkansas State last weekend.  Georgia Southern (17-13, 7-5) is on the road after dropping two of three in San Marcos against Texas State.

The Cajuns dropped an 8-6 decision to #3 LSU Tuesday night.  Georgia Southern did not play a mid week game this week.

The Cajuns will send freshman left hander Gunner Leger (3-1, 3.63 ERA) to the mound in game one.  He will be opposed by Eagles' lefty Evan Challenger, a redshirt sophomore who brings a 2-0 record into the contest with a sparkling 1.02 ERA.

On Saturday, senior right hander Greg Milhorn (1-0, 3.70) gets the start for Louisiana while Georgia Southern will counter with right handed starter Tripp Sheppard (2-2, 3.03).  Sunday, Freshman righty Evan Guillory (2-0, 4.70) will be opposed by lefty Connor Simmons (1-1, 2.03).

Louisiana is second in the Sun Belt Conference in hitting (.280), third in pitching (3.70) and eighth in defense (.961).  Georgia Southern is fourth in hitting (.270), fourth in pitching (3.89) and last in defense (.952).

The two teams are 1-2 in the league in opposing team batting average.  The Cajuns' opponents hit .240, while Eagles' opponents hit .243.

Junior All-American Blake Trahan is second in the league in hitting (380) while catcher Nick Thurman is eighth (.348).

Georgia Southern is led in hitting by Chase Griffin (.319),  Kody Adams (.309) and Aaron Mizell (.305).  Mizell is tied for the league lead in home runs with eight.  Georgia Southern has hit 23 home runs, second in the league.
