The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns opened the Sun Belt Conference season with a couple of road wins.

Now, the charge for the Cajuns is to protect their home court.

Louisiana (12-3, 2-0) puts its unbeaten home record on the line Thursday night when they entertain Appalachian State (7-8, 2-0) in a game scheduled for 7:15pm.

The Cajuns swept the state of Arkansas on the same road trip for the first time in 18 years, beating Little Rock 77-63 Friday before tripping Arkansas State 88-78 Sunday in Jonesboro.

The Mountaineers, meanwhile, won a couple of home contests, beating Texas State 66-62 and outlasting UTA 80-76.  App State is 2-0 in the league for the first time since joining the league.

The Cajuns have won all seven meetings against the Mountaineers, with five of those wins coming in Sun Belt play.

Louisiana leads the Sun Belt in scoring, scoring margin, free throw percentage, field goal percentage, assists and assist/turnover ratio.  App State, meanwhile, is second in the Sun Belt in scoring, third in three point percentage, and first in three pointers made per game.

Individually, Bryce Washington leads the league in rebounding, while JaKeenan Gant leads the league in blocks and is third in field goal percentage. Marcus Stroman is second in assists, while Malik Marquetti is tied for second in three point field goal percentage.

Preseason second team all-conference performer Ronshad Shabazz leads App State in scoring (20.9) and is fourth in the league.  Isaac Johnson is fourth in the league in rebounds, while freshman Justin Forrest is fourth in three pointers made per game.

The Cajun women (6-8, 1-1) take on App State (2-11, 0-2) in the first game of the doubleheader, beginning at 5:00 pm.
