The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns forced 21 turnovers and held South Alabama to 34 percent shooting in taking a 62-38 win over the Jaguars in women's basketball action Thursday night at the Cajundome.

Jaylyn Gordon hit 12-18 from the field, including four three pointers to lead the Cajuns with 29 points.  Simone Fields added 14 points in the rout.

Louisiana (13-8, 7-5 Sun Belt) took the lead for good three minutes into the game on a Gordon triple and went on a 12-2 run over the next five and a half minutes to take a 21-10 lead early in the second quarter and the Jaguars(7-15, 2-9)  never got closer than six points after that.  The Cajuns scored as many points in the first half as South Alabama did the entire game, leading 38-22 at the half.  The defense did the rest as the Jags were just 7-25 shooting in the second half.

Chyna Ellis and Candice Williams led South Alabama with eight points apiece.

Louisiana is back in action Saturday when they entertain Troy at the Cajundome.  Tipoff is slated for 5:00 pm.
