Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team improved to 2-0 Saturday night with a commanding 37-24 conference victory over the Troy Trojans.

Running back Alonzo Harris led the Cajun offense with 137 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. Darryl Surgent led all UL wide receivers with 4 catches for 61 yards.

Starting quarterback Blaine Gautier rushed for a game-tying 10 yard score in the first quarter, but left the game after the TD with bruised ribs. Terrance Broadway went the rest for the way for Louisiana, finishing with 143 yards and a TD on 10 of 16 passing. He connected with Harry Peoples for a 9 yard score in the 3rd quarter. The touchdown marked the first of Broadway's career as a Cajun.

The Ragin' Cajun defense gave up a load of passing yards, yet still dominated the majority of the ballgame. Jemarlous Moten swung the momentum in the Cajuns favor late in the first quarter with a 56 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. That put UL up 14-7 and gave the Cajuns a lead they would never relinquish. Christian Ringo recovered a fumble as well, while Emeka Onyenekwu intercepted a Troy shovel pass.

Brett Baer and the Cajun special teams were special as usual. Baer knocked in both his field goals, giving him 18 straight. That's a new Sun Belt Conference record.
