Louirnsiana broke open a tight game in the second half and extended its lead to as many as 25 points en route to a 97-84 win over Loyola (NO) before an announced crowd of 3,307.

Loyola held a 17-14 lead with 13:22 to play in the first half but the Cajuns (6-3) went on an 11-0 run to take the lead for good.  Marquetti hit a pair of free throws, Stroman scored on a layup, Marquetti hit a three ball, Gant scored on a dunk off a Stroman feed and Stroman got a steal and a bucket as Louisiana took a 25-17 lead at the 10:48 mark. The lead grew to 41-29 before a late Wolf Pack flurry cut the lead to 44-38 at intermission.

Loyola cut the lead to 49-45 in the first two minutes of the second half, but Gant hit a three pointer and Miller added a pair of triples in a 9-0 run that stretched the lead to 13. Miller's layup at the 13:28 mark stretched the lead to 67-51 and Louisiana slowly built the lead throughout the second half.  A three point play by Hayes gave the Cajuns their biggest lead, 89-64 with just under four minutes to play.

The Cajuns are back in action Tuesday night when they host Prairie View A&M at the Cajundome.
