Cajuns Continue to Put the “Student” in Student-Athlete
As Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns celebrate the on-field accomplishments of their student-athletes during the 2011-12 athletic year, the University has also announced another record semester in the classroom.
For the first time in five years, more than half of the student-athletes at the University of Louisiana had at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Overall, the 346 student-athletes had an aggregate 2.804 GPA. Included in that number are sixteen who achieved a 4.0 GPA and 85 who scored 3.5 or higher.
The football team had a 2.691 GPA. That’s the highest ever recorded in that sport.
