Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad travels to Troy, Alabama to take on the Troy Trojans the 2014 regular season finale for both teams.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 9:30 am on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 10:30 am.

Kickoff time at Cajun Field is set for 11:30 am.

Louisiana, who had their 7-game win streak snapped last Saturday, after falling to Appalachian St., 35-16, at Cajun Field, is currently 7-4, overall, and 6-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, which puts them in second place in the Sun Belt conference standings, one game behind Georgia Southern, who is a perfect 7-0.

Troy, who beat Idaho, 34-17, back on November 15, has won two-straight, and will come in with an overall record of 3-8, along with a 3-4 league mark.

The Trojans will be playing their final game under the direction of Larry Blakeney, who has been the head coach at Troy since 1991, accumulating 178 career wins, including two bowl victories.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 29.6 points, 411.7 yards, 192.7 passing yards, and 219.0 rushing yards per game, while the Trojans are averaging 21.7 points, 360.5 total yards, 192.1 passing yards, and 168.4 rushing yards a contest.

Defensively, Louisiana is allowing 28.4 points, 424.5 total yards, 148.9 rushing yards, and 275.6 passing yards per game, while Troy is giving up an average of 35.6 points, 441.1 yards of total offense, 237.2 rushing yards, and 213.9 passing yards an outing.

The Cajuns are led by senior quarterback Terrance Broadway, who has thrown for 1,926 yards and 12 touchdowns, with another 568 rushing yards to his credit, along with sophomore running back Elijah McGuire, who has 996 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, and senior receiver James Butler, who has 28 catches for 398 yards.

The Trojans are paced by freshman quarterback Brandon Silvers, who has thrown for 1,564 and 8 touchdowns, along with junior running back Brandon Burks, who has 534 rushing yards and three touchdowns, and senior receiver Chandler Worthy, who has accumulated 356 receiving yards on 36 catches.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 11-7, and has won the last three meetings, including a 41-36 win a season ago.
