Louisiana senior guard Josh Brown has been named to the All-Sun Belt Conference men's basketball team, announced Wednesday by the league.

Brown was named a second-team performer, after leading the Cajuns in both points and rebounds during the 2011-12 season.  He was the only Cajuns player selected.

The first-team was no surprise.  UALR's D'Andre Williams, Middle Tennessee's LaRon Dendy, North Texas' Tony Mitchell, South Alabama's Augustine Rubit and Denver's Chris Udofia were all named to the first team.

Dendy, who led Middle Tennessee to a 25-5 record and the regular season title, was named Player of the Year.  Dendy, a senior transfer, had six double-doubles, and led the Blue Raiders in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.

Mitchell, who became eligible at after the first semester, was named SBC Player of the Week three consecutive times during the season.  He led the league in Conference games in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.

Udofia, who was the Pioneers leading scorer, also was named Defensive Player of the Year after blocking 71 shots during the season.

Kermit Davis, in his tenth season at Middle Tennessee, was named the league's coach of the year.
