Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns kicked off their season against the loaded Boise State Broncos, who handed the Cajuns a loss today at Cajun Field by the score of 45-10.

Boise State's defensive line handled the Cajuns in the trenches, especially in the first half. The end result was a Cajun offense struggling to find a rhythm.

"We had a lot of guys getting their first action today," said Louisiana head coach Mark Hudspeth after the loss. "They were the better team."

The Broncos offense, which ranked 16th best in the country last season, picked up where they left off, torching Louisiana for 584 yards , including 35 first half points.

Louisiana was able to find the end zone once. In the 4th quarter, quarterback Anthony Jennings found wide receiver Keenan Barnes on a dig route for an 11 yard touchdown.

The Cajuns committed a number of costly errors, including 10 penalties for 71 yards.

"We're going to bounce back, I assure you that," said Hudspeth.

The 0-1 Cajuns will remain home next Saturday, hosting McNeese State at Cajun Field.
