Despite losing 2/3 of their weekend rotation, their best reliever and most of their offense from last year, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns are picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason baseball poll released today.

The Cajuns received one first place vote (Coach Tony Robichaux always votes his team first) and finished with 74 total points, behind FIU and Troy, who tied for first with 93 points.

FAU and Western Kentucky finished tied for fourth in the poll, followed by South Alabama, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, ULM and Arkansas-Little Rock.

FIU outfielder Pablo Bermudez and Troy righthander Tyler Ray were selected preseason player and pitcher of the year, respectively.

The Cajuns had no one on the preseason team.

Louisiana opens the 2012 season against Wichita State on Friday, February 17th in the Texas State Bobcat Classic in San Marcos, TX.
