The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Baseball team dropped game two of a three game set on Saturday to the South Alabama Jaguars, 7-3.

In this game Saturday we didn't see the same Jack Burk that we saw last Saturday against Vanderbilt. Burk was ultra efficient last weekend and this week the Jags made it difficult for him on every single pitch it seemed like. Burk needed to throw 81 pitches and couldn't get out of the 5th inning. He gave up six hits, five runs, walked three, while striking out four batters.

The bullpen was OKAY, with Dylan Moore continuing to struggle to get back to his dominating form he gave up a run in an inning of relief on two hits. In addition, Caleb Armstrong pitched 1.1 innings, also giving up two hits and one run. However, it was nice to see Grant Cox come in and throw 1.2 shutout innings with two strikeouts.

One thing the Cajuns pitching staff has done well is being able to contain the very talented, Travis Swaggerty. So far in this series the junior outfielder is just 1-9 but that one was a solo home-run on Saturday afternoon.

As far as the UL hitters go, it was more of the same that we've seen all year long, not a lot of productivity. Yesterday they were able to hang on for a win by collecting six hits and only scoring two runs behind Nick Lee and Brock Batty. Today, the Cajuns could only muster two hits and scored three runs but they were able to cut down on strikeouts, only seven, and did walk four times.

The rubber game of the series will come your way on Sunday at 1pm from the Tigue. The Cajuns will be looking for their first series win of the season.
