Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team will play postseason ball for the first time since 2007 after accepting a bid to the (Women's Basketball Invitational) WBI tournament.

The tournament consists of 16 teams. Louisiana is the #2 seed in the West Region, and will host UT-Pan American (19-14) on Thursday at 7:00pm at Earl K. Long Gym. The can will air on ESPN1420, with pregame beginning at 6:45. Steve Peloquin will have the call.

With a victory, Louisiana would then play the winner of Furman and McNeese State, who are set to play in Lake Charles on Thursday at 7:00pm.

The Cajuns currently sit at 19-12, with an opportunity to reach 20 on the season Thursday at home.

In addition to the Cajuns, Texas State and Troy will participate in the WBI. With Arkansas State playing in the WNIT and UALR in the NCAA tournament, the Sun Belt has 5 teams playing in the postseason.

Louisiana's last trip to a postseason tournament came 9 years ago when the Cajuns were coached by the late J. Kelly Hall. That season, UL received an at large bid to the NCAA women's tournament as an 11 seed, falling in the first round to Dayton.
