Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team ended the regular season today with a decisive 11-4 victory over the ULM Warhawks. As is custom, the seniors (pictured left) were honored at the last regular season homegame on Senior Day.

In her last regular season win, senior pitcher Ashley Brignac (20-2) struck out 7, moving up to 2nd place all-time in UL history with 821 strikeouts.

Senior Christi Orgeron hit her team-high 20th homerun of the season, and drove in 3 runs. Nerissa Myers scored 2 runs as well.

Co-head coach Michael Lotief expressed his admiration for the 7 Cajun seniors after Sunday's win.

“You can’t say enough about these seven seniors and what they have done for this program. They can’t reflect on what they have accomplished right now but after the season is over and they have some time to sit down and think, it’s incredible what they have done," explained Lotief. "Women’s College World Series, conference championships, what they have done for the community, they have set a very high standard for the program. Each one is embedded in their own special way and they are such a great group to be around collectively.”

With the victory, the Cajuns improve to 46-3 on the year, ending the regular season with a 21-3 mark in Sun Belt Conference play.

UL is the number one seed in the SBC Tournament, which begins this Wednesday.
