Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team (14-1) is ranked 5th in the country for many reasons.

One reason, sophomore pitcher Kylee Jo Trahan. The Burkburnett, Texas native is coming off a week in which she threw a perfect game and a pair of no-hitters.

For those great performances in the circle, Trahan was named the Sun Belt Conference pitcher of the week.

Her perfect game against Alcorn State last Sunday was the first thrown by a Cajun softballer in over 5 years.

"Kylee has been working hard in the bullpen and she's also been working hard training to transform her body," Louisiana softball head coach Michael Lotief said in a University press release. "She's always had good stuff in the bullpen. Her spins, speed and movement are good, but to see her to be able to go out in the circle, in that environment, and it all be able to click for her and happen, is a special moment."

Louisiana returns to the diamond this weekend in Hattiesburg for a three game series at Southern Miss (10-8).

First pitch for a doubleheader on Saturday is set for 1:00. The three game weekend series concludes on Sunday with a 1:00 first pitch.
