Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team couldn't complete the road sweep on Sunday, falling in a tightly contested ballgame at Troy by the score of 2 to 1.

The 21st ranked Cajuns took an early 1 run lead in the top of the 1st when Brittany Rodriguez scored off a sacrifice bunt by Alissa Dalton.

Louisiana wouldn't score again, as Troy's error free defense and pitching held the Cajuns offense in check, allowing only 4 hits on the day.

Louisiana's pitching was solid as well, as Summer Ellyson allowed 2 earned runs and 4 hits in 4.1 innings pitched, striking out 5. She was replaced in the 5th inning by Casey Dixon, who retired all 5 batters she faced.

Ellyson (9-4) was tabbed with the loss, while Troy ace Annie Willis earned the win, pitching 7 complete innings.

Rodriguez, Kara Gremillion, Kourtney Gremillion and Casidy Chaumont each finished with a hit for the Cajuns.

Louisiana falls to 20-7 with the loss, 7-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Next up, a home conference series with South Alabama (17-14) set to begin on this Good Friday with a doubleheader at 4 and a single game next Saturday at 1.
