Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Saturday afternoon, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Ruston, Louisiana to take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-conference match-up.

Tipoff time is set for noon.

Louisiana, who defeated the McNeese St. Cowboys, 97-64, in non-conference action on Wednesday night, is 3-3 on the young season, while Louisiana Tech, who beat LSU-Shreveport, 82-49, on Tuesday night, will enter the match-up with a record of 7-1.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 91.8/78.8, and outshooting them from the floor, 49%/42%, while also holding down a 44.0/33.5 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 19.8 points, to go along with 11.2 rebounds-per-game, and sophomore swingman Johnathan Stove, who is averaging 12.0 points a contest.

Louisiana Tech is outscoring the opposition, 82.4/65.4, while also outshooting them, 45%/37%, while being outrebounded, 43.0/42.0.

The Bulldogs are paced by junior forward Erik McCree, who is scoring 15.8 points, while pulling down 7.1 rebounds-per-game.

Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series, 87-73, but Louisiana won the last match-up, capturing a 94-86 win last season in Lafayette.
