Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Monday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Central Methodist (Mo.) Eagles in non-conference action.

For the Cajuns, tonight's game will be their final non-conference tune-up, before they open up Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday at ULM.

Louisiana is currently 8-4 on the young season, and haven't played since suffering a 73-70 loss at Jackson St. back on December 19.

Central Methodist, a Division I NAIA school in the Heart of America Conference, who last played on December 16, when they fell to Baker University, 64-60, stands at 7-7 on the year.

The Cajuns are led by sophomore forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 21.2 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks a game, and junior guard Elfrid Payton, who is averaging 19.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per contest, while the Eagles are paced by senior guard Melvin Tillman, who is averaging 19.2 points-per-game.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
