Coming off a 49-27 victory against Texas State on Saturday, two members of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football team have been recognized as conference players of the week.

Quarterback Jalen Nixon was named Sun Belt's offensive player of the week today. in the win over the Bobcats, the Cajuns QB threw for a career best 22 completions on 29 attempts, for a career best 238 yards and 3 TDs. He also rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Louisiana defensive back Jeryl Brazil earned Sun Belt special teams player of the week honors, two days after he tied a school-record for longest kickoff return for a touchdown at 100 yards. Brazil's 32.0 yard average on returns is currently 8th best in the FBS.

The Cajuns (2-4) return to action a week from tomorrow in Jonesboro when they battle the Arkansas State Red Wolves (2-3) on October 20th. Kickoff is set for 7:00.
