Louisiana Ragin' Cajun kicker Stephen Brauchle experienced some up and downs in his first year with the Cajuns last season.

While he missed his first field goal attempt versus Arkansas (8-for-13 on the season), he bounced back by setting the single game record for extra points made (10) versus Nicholls State. He also nailed his first 27 PATS, the fourth-longest streak in Ragin' Cajun football history.

In the spring, head coach Mark Hudspeth opened up a competition between senior Hunter Stover and junior Brauchle to see who would earn field goal duties in 2014. While the competition is ongoing, we caught up with a bulked up Brauchle (he added 15 pounds of muscle since last season) to discuss the competition with Stover, learning experiences, personal goals, comfort level, the best part about being a kicker & more.

UPDATE: Brauchle has left the Ragin' Cajun football program and plans to transfer.
