Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team has a new non-conference opponent for the 2016 season, and it comes with a hefty payday.

According to report from Marc Weizer of dogbytesonline.com, Louisiana will play at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia on November 19th, 2016, in a matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Weizer reports Georgia will pay the Cajuns a guarantee of $1.2 million.

The Cajuns 2016 non-conference schedule is now final. In addition to the trip to Athens Louisiana will open the season with a home game against Boise State (September 3rd), followed a week later with a home matchup against McNeese State (September 10th). On October 8th of that season, the Cajuns are scheduled to face Tulane in New Orleans.

Louisiana made a trip to Athens to open up the 2010 season, falling 55-7 to the Bulldogs. It's the only meeting between the schools on the football gridiron.
