Busy Weekend For UL Soccer/Volleyball

It will be a busy weekend for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer and volleyball teams, with both scheduled to play multiple times, including home appearances.

The UL soccer team will be in Thibodaux, Louisiana on Friday, to take on the Nicholls St. Colonels, in non-conference action at 4 o'clock, before hosting the Texas Southern Lady Tigers in another non-conference tilt at the Cajuns Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.

Louisiana, who is 2-2 on the season, defeated McNeese State, 3-0, last Friday in the team's home opener, before dropping a 5-1 contest on the road to Ole Miss on Sunday.

Nicholls St. is currently 2-2, while Texas Southern is winless, at 0-4.

Meanwhile, the UL volleyball team, off to an undefeated 3-0 start to their 2014 campaign, will play in front of their home fans for the first time when they host the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic, Friday-Sunday at Earl K. Long Gym.

UL swept through the Rice Adidas Classic last weekend in Houston, Texas, with wins over Fresno St., Rice, and UC-Davis.

The Cajuns will play twice on Friday, taking on Southern (1-3) at 2 o'clock and Southern Miss (3-1) at 7 o'clock, and twice more on Saturday, facing Nicholls St. (2-1) at 11 am and Northwestern State (2-1) at 5 o'clock.
