It didn't take former Ragin' Cajun shortstop Blake Trahan long to make his first professional All-Star Team, playing in the Pioneer League.

With a .336 batting average, an on-base percentage over .400 and a fielding percentage in the impeccable .950+ range...is anybody surprised? Trahan is tearing things up in the field and in the batter's box for the Billings Mustangs, so the Pioneer League invited him to the All-Star Game as one of the reserves.

The Cincinnati Reds' third round draft pick isn't wasting time getting "adjusted" to the pros. He seems pretty comfortable already. In his 31 games in the minor leagues, guess how many of them he has a hit in. Go ahead and guess. Try 28 games.

Simple subtraction tells you that only three games of Blake Trahan's professional career have ended without him collecting a hit. Can we all admit that's a little absurd?

The All-Star Game invitation was absolutely earned. He has more walks than strikeouts (13 BB, 12 SO), 25 runs scored through 31 games, some stolen bases and a ton of flashy plays in the field. The Pioneer League better enjoy him while he's there, because a call-up might be in the works pretty soon if this keeps up.

The full roster for the All-Star Game might not allow for Trahan to play too long, but an invitation means he's one of the best at his level.

With a chip on his shoulder from the MLB Draft, other clubs better look out for Blake Trahan. The Reds got themselves a grinder, and he's still just as smooth.
