Blake Trahan

Shortstop Blake Trahan, of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, was named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger All-America Team on Wednesday, as selected by selected Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Trahan, who was named the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, hit a .319, with ten doubles, four home runs, and 38 RBI's, along with 13 stolen bases in his freshman campaign.

The Kinder, La. native started 62 of Cajuns' 63 games, hit safely in 48 of 62 games, drew a team-high 30 walks, and finished the year with a .955 fielding percentage.

The freshman helped lead Louisiana to 43 wins, 20 more than they accumulated the previous season, and an NCAA regional berth.

Trahan, who was one of nine shortstops selected to the team, is joined by LSU's Alex Bregman, McNeese State’s Bryce Kingsley and Southeastern Louisiana’s Mason Klotzas as players from the state of Louisiana that were named to the team.
