Early Thursday evening, it appeared Chris Paul would be heading to the Lakers in a three team trade. The Hornets were set to receive 4 solid players and a first round draft pick in return. However, the trade now appears to be in peril after a group of owners protested. The Hornets are currently owned by the league.

My sources tell me that Chris Paul is appealing via the union, and could sue the league as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Hornets General Manager Dell Demps is absolutely livid that the league is trying to step in and nix the deal. He reportedly was on the verge of resigning, but was talked out of it. Can you blame him?
