Despite being in a nasty labor dispute, the NBA released the 2011-2012 regular season schedule yesterday. If a season is played, the Hornets will only appear on national television twice. That's pretty insulting considering New Orleans was a playoff team, and still possess one of the league's biggest superstars in Chris Paul

The Atlanta Hawks had less wins than the Hornets a year ago,  but are scheduled for 8 national TV appearances.  Let's not fail to mention that the Hawks have zero national appeal. The Golden State Warriors, who were not in the postseason, have not had a player on the all-star team in 14 years, and finished 10 games below .500 last season, have 10 nationally televised appearances. How much national appeal do they have? What a joke.

One game on TNT and another on ESPN should tell Hornet fans that Turner Sports and the World Wide Leader don't think the Hornets are much of a national draw. I would argue that Chris Paul is a huge national draw, yet 18 teams have more National TV appearances scheduled than the Hornets. Oh well, there probably won't be much of a season anyway.

The Hornets will be on NBA-TV  six times, which isn't considered National TV. Trust me, the Hornets don't consider the six games nationally televised games either

Let's remember that Cox Sports Television only televises 65 Hornet games, and usually overlap a few NBA-TV games. Even if they don't, Hornet fans are still guaranteed to have, at the minimum, 9 games that they can't see on TV unless they fork over money to subscribe to NBA league pass.

The first of two (tentatively scheduled) nationally televised games will be on TNT as New Orleans takes on the Los Angeles Clippers on November 24th, Thanksgiving Night. The second national TV appearance is a 7:00 Friday night ESPN game on February 17th. That night, the Hornets will battle the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden.  Enough about TV, let's look at the tentative 2011-2012 Hornet schedule.  At this point, NBA fans are hoping that any of these games are played, much less all 82.
