All summer long, we’re going to list the best players in New Orleans Saints history to wear every number, 00-99.

Yesterday, we did #62

Today, #63:

The pick: Brad Edelman

When deciding who is the best New Orleans Saints player to ever wear #63, the choice is limited to defensive linemen Steve Baumgartner, Barry Bennett, and Karl Dunbar, and offensive linemen Roy Schmidt, Norman Davis, Roger Finnie, Brad Edelman, Donald Williams, Wally Williams, and Chad Setterstrom.

Our selection is going to be Edelman, an offensive lineman, who played for the Saints for eight years, from 1982-1989.

After playing his college football at Missouri, Edelman was drafted by the Saints in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Edelman was a starter at left guard for all of his eight season with the Saints, including 1987, when he was named to the Pro Bowl, prior to retiring following the 1989 season.

In eight years with the Saints, Edelman played in 90 games, including 87 as a starter.
