All summer long, we’re going to list the best players in New Orleans Saints history to wear every number, 00-99.

Yesterday, we did #31.

Today, #32:

The pick: Kenny Vaccaro

When deciding who is the best New Orleans Saints player to ever wear #31, the choice is limited to running backs Tom Barrington, Lincoln Minor, Kim Jones, Scott Stauch, Paul Frazier, Vaughn Dunbar, Earnest Hunter, Aaron Craver, Jerald Moore, Ki-Jana Carter, Antowain Smith, and Fred McAfee, and defensive backs Jim DeRatt, Vernon Perry, Darrell Toussaint, Mark Lee, Jabari Greer, and Kenny Vaccaro.

At first glance, Greer would look to be the pick, but he wore #32 for only one season, so we're throwing him out.

After that, it comes down to Barrington, who gained 493 yards in four years with the franchise, Craver, a two-year starter at fullback, Jones, who gained 80 yards in his four years with the team, Dunbar, who gained over 500 in his one season of extended play, and Vaccaro, who is ultimately the selection, even if he has only spent just two years with the organization.

After finishing his college career at Texas, where he was named a 2012 first-team All-American by Pro Football Weekly, Vaccaro was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

A native of Early, Texas Vaccaro had an outstanding rookie season in 2013, playing in 14 games, while accumulating 79 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, one interception, and 6 passes defended.

Unfortunately, Vaccaro's rookie campaign was ended prematurely when he broke his ankle making a tackle against the Carolina Panthers in week 15.

2014 was a bit erratic for Vaccaro, who made some big plays, and had two interceptions, but was also benched late in the year.

The 6-foot, 215-pound Vaccaro will be trying to make this selection a no-brainer in a couple of years.
