Benson Backs Payton, Loomis

As an investigation continues into whether 22-27 current or former New Orleans Saints players participated in a "bounty" scheme, people close to the Saints say owner Tom Benson is standing behind his head coach and General Manager.

ESPN.com says Benson is solidly with Coach Sean Payton and General Manager Mickey Loomis.  The investigation continues, but it is believed the Saints and those involved, including Payton, Loomis and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, could be subject to fines and/or suspensions.

Williams met with NFL officials today.  Commissioner Roger Goodell did not attend the meeting.
