Benson And Payton Called To League Office Today
New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and head coach Sean Payton were called to New York to meet with league officials today. They will continue discussions with the league regarding the team's bounty program.
Apparently, the league isn't finished with its investigation into "bountygate."
The NFL's investigation continues to be categorized as "ongoing," however it is unclear whether or not these discussions entail more fact finding or if Benson and Payton are being briefed about the expected forthcoming sanctions that could include fines, the loss of draft picks and suspensions.
While it has been widely speculated that the league will dole out its punishment to the Saints before the NFL owners' meeting in Florida on March 26th, there is currently no set timetable in announcing the penalties.
