Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger played through a broken foot late last season, and throughout the playoffs. Ben told a Pittsburgh newspaper that the foot has not fully healed, and he may need an operation to repair the injury. Here is more from the Pittsburgh Tribune and Pittsburghlive.com.

I could have had surgery, but according to the doctors it would have been a really nasty process because of where the break was. It was better off trying not to do anything," Roethlisberger told the Tribune-Review on Friday. "It's going to be something where we're just going to have to, in essence, play it by ear. If it continues to be as painful as it was at the end of last year, then I'm going to probably have to have the surgery."

My guess is that Ben won't have surgery. Although the injury has not fully healed, he probably would have scheduled the surgery two months into the offseason when he noticed the foot was still injured. Ben also told the newspaper that it's "healed up" somewhat, so who knows how his foot is really feeling.
