Alabama found a way to shut down Leonard Fournette, and they didn't even need kryptonite to do it.

The leading Heisman candidate wasn't able to find a photo booth to hop in and find super hero status. Instead, the Crimson Tide allowed him about the same room as a photo booth in the backfield to operate and made the miraculous happen: they shut Leonard Fournette down for the majority of the game. It resulted in a 30-16 victory.

At one point, Fournette had 15 carries for 13 yards. Let that sink in. He finished with only 31 yards.

Nick Saban found the formula to frustrate the folks in purple in gold yet again this season. With the Tigers fully in the College Football Playoff conversation, the Tide found a way to complicate things.

"It's a team thing when you stop a great player like that," Saban said after the game.

While LSU couldn't find a crease or a single break on offense, Alabama kept cracking open the Tiger defense. With the Heisman front runner on the field, Derrick Henry rushed for 212 yards and 3 TD's on a mindblowing 38 rushes. It was the third most carries for an Alabama running back, all time. Was it enough to create a new Heisman front runner? If the Tide end up running the table, the chances are pretty high.

When Henry was asked about his performance, he deflected praise to the rest of the squad.

"I feel like our offense proved something," Henry said.

The Tigers were stifled by an aggressive defense all game, and the Tide's offense ensured a fifth straight victory. It's enough to churn the stomachs of the folks in purple and gold, but you have to respect the performance.

You don't have to like Saban. The phrase "roll Tide" can make you feel sick, but at the same time, don't act like what they pulled off wasn't impressive.
