Scott Prather

I’ve been with ESPN1420 for over nine years. In addition to hosting the Great S.C.O.T.T. show every weekday from 5-6 and the Sports Gap from 4-5, I serve as the brand manager and program director. While sports is my passion, I always try to remember why I got into this business. Sports is fun. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s lighthearted, but if you’re not having fun working in sports, then you’re doing something wrong. I have on many guests, ranging from professional athletes such as Thomas Morstead, Roman Harper, Charles Tillman, Tyson Chandler and Anthony Davis, to Saints and Pelicans correspondent Gus Kattengell, as well as local sports radio personalities and journalists. You can hear me doing play by play for UL baseball and softball when filling in for Jay or Steve. As a proud graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, I got my start in radio working part time as a board operator, producer, and sports personality for Entercom broadcasting in New Orleans.

Too soon? Melissa McCarthy hosted Saturday Night Live last night, and despite her talent, there weren't too many memorable sketches. However, if you're a sports fan, one was memorably funny. Rutgers fired basketball coach Mike Rice last week after ESPN's Outside The Lines released a video of Rice...

Epic Dunk Fail By Aaron Gordon During McDonald’s All-American Game [Video]

Usually we post videos of incredible dunks. Well, here is a video of an incredible failed dunk. I don't feel bad for the kid. He's about to play college ball at Arizona, then go make millions in the NBA. Having said that, this epic fail on an attempted "fancy" slam dunk will always be with him. Hopefully he can laugh about it.

Another Classic Craig Sager Interview With Gregg Popovich [Video]

Anyone that watches the NBA knows how much San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich hates doing interviews...especially the television required "in game" interview. Warriors Slay Hornets Behind Lee’s Big Night

The New Orleans Hornets 5 game road swing didn't begin well last night in Oakland, as they fell the Golden State Warriors 98-88. The difference was David Lee. New Orleans simply had no answer for the All-Star, as Lee went for his league-leading 50th...

5 Biggest Misses In NFL Combine History

There are two kinds of "misses" when it comes to the NFL combine. Some players jump up draft boards because of a freakishly good combine, only to disappoint their hopeful employer, fizzling out of the league after several lackluster seasons. Other players put up weak numbers at the combine, slide down draft boards, and become a bonafide "steal" for an NFL team.
