Scott Prather

I’ve been with ESPN1420 for over nine years. In addition to hosting the Great S.C.O.T.T. show every weekday from 5-6 and the Sports Gap from 4-5, I serve as the brand manager and program director. While sports is my passion, I always try to remember why I got into this business. Sports is fun. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s lighthearted, but if you’re not having fun working in sports, then you’re doing something wrong. I have on many guests, ranging from professional athletes such as Thomas Morstead, Roman Harper, Charles Tillman, Tyson Chandler and Anthony Davis, to Saints and Pelicans correspondent Gus Kattengell, as well as local sports radio personalities and journalists. You can hear me doing play by play for UL baseball and softball when filling in for Jay or Steve. As a proud graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, I got my start in radio working part time as a board operator, producer, and sports personality for Entercom broadcasting in New Orleans.

Best Of Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich During Interviews, Games, And Postgame [Video]

Win or lose tonight, San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will always be known as a great coach. He'll also always be known as for his condescending tone toward reporters, unintentionally hilarious in-game interviews, and stating the obvious. Here are some of the best moments coach Popovich has given us over the years.

Miami Newscast Talks To Fans Who Left Game 6 Early, Think Heat Lost [Video]

When you break it down to its core, there are two kinds of sports fans. Good ones and bad ones. Another way to phrase it would be, real ones and fake ones. A few thousand fake Miami Heat fans left Game 6 of the NBA Finals early last night, accepting defeat while the Heat's championship hopes hung in the balance. A local Miami news station captured the embarrassing exodus, talking to "fans" who thought Miami lost. The newscast also captured the losers who left the game, only to attempt reentry into American Airlines Arena when Game 6 reached overtime.

Heat Top Spurs In Overtime For Wild Win, Force Game 7

The 2013 NBA finals hadn't had much drama late in games before Game 6. Game 6 had enough drama late to make up for an entire postseason. The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 in overtime Tuesday night to...

Steve Gleason Responds To Atlanta Radio Segment That Mocked Him

Steve Gleason made national headlines yesterday for two reasons. One, he wrote a 4,500 word column for Sports Illustrated, detailing his battle with ALS. And two, because three Atlanta radio hosts made a segment belittling and mocking Gleason, as well as his incurable disease. The latter moved the needle more than the former, but Gleason has responded to the incident, in the only way you'd expect him to...with class.

Disgraceful Atlanta Sports Radio Station 790 AM Targets And Belittles Steve Gleason [Audio]

A sports radio station in Atlanta aired a three minute segment this morning, pretending to talk to former New Orleans Saints safety Steve Gleason. Gleason suffers from ALS, and communicates by using a computer. The morning show recorded a segment speaking to a computer, claiming it was Gleason. Allegedly, one line used in the disgraceful bit was of "Gleason" saying, "I might be dead by Thursday." This is disgusting.

Tony Parker Does It All, Including Coaching His Teammates In The Huddle [Video]

Part of what makes San Antonio Spurs coach Greg Popovich great is an ability to know when to trust his players. After point guard Tony Parker hit a shot for the ages late in Game 1 of the NBA finals, the Spurs huddled up to discuss how to defend the Miami Heat. I'll let Parker take it from there, as the All-Star point guard coaches his team perfectly on how to execute the final possession of the ballgame.
