Carlos Beltrán 's days as a Gold Glove outfielder are nearly 10 years in the past.

While the Houston Astros outfield has a cupboard full of skilled players, Beltrán, 40, has spent the majority of the season as a DH.

In fact, he hasn't used his glove in the outfield during a game in over 2 months.

Before yesterday's game against the Seattle Mariners, Beltrán's teammates took his dusty glove out of his locker, placed it in the outfield, and held a "memorial service" for the glove.

How did Beltrán feel about the glove "funeral"?

“I love it,” Beltran told the Houston Chronicle. “I have fun with them. They have fun with me. That's what a team should be.”

With the best record in American League, the Astros are having fun this year.
