Oakland A’s Colon Gets 50-Game Ban For Performance Enhancing Drugs

Just a week after San Francisco’s Melky Cabrera received a 50 game suspension for a positive testosterone test, another major leaguer is getting the same ban for the same reason.
Oakland Athletics’ righthander Bartolo Colon also tested positive and will miss the remaining 40 games of the regular season and the first ten games of the postseason if Oakland qualifies.
If not, Colon would be suspended the first ten games of next season, if he is still in the league.
Colon issued a statement taking responsibility for his actions.
Colon, 39, was 10-9 with a 3.43 ERA this season.
