The Oakland A's never sat atop the AL West during the 2012 season...until today. On the final day of the regular season, the A's routed the Texas Rangers 12-5 to complete an improbable run on their way to an AL West title.

Oakland found themselves 13 out of the division lead. Much like they came back to claim the AL West, the A's found themselves down on Wednesday to Texas. Trailing by 4 runs, Oakland scored 11 unanswered to top the two-time defending American League champions. It was the seventh time this season Oakland won a game after trailing by 4 or more runs.

With the victory, the A's join some elite company. The only other clubs to win their division after trailing by 13 games are the 1914 Boston Braves, the 1951 New York Giants, the `78 Yankees and the `95 Seattle Mariners.
