Arkansas St. head coach Gus Malzhan announced on Tuesday that his football program has dismissed receiver Allen Muse.

Early last Wednesday, Muse was arrested by university police and charged with third-degree assault.  A police report stated that Muse’s mother-in-law called police after the player allegedly broke down a door because his wife locked herself in the bathroom with his phone in her possession.

The Red Wolves suspended Muse after that incident, and made the decision to bar him from any future on-field activities.

Muse, senior, had 65 receptions for 853 yards, and seven touchdowns over his career. His best season was in 2010, when he totaled 42 receptions for 635 yards, and five touchdowns.

Arkansas St., who is 1-1 on the year, travels this Saturday to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
