The Minnesota Vikings are taking measures to protect their superstar running back Adrian Peterson. As he continues to hit the practice field this preseason, his employers are doing their best to help him as he recovers from a torn ACL and MCL suffered back on Christmas Eve.

We all know that training camp practices aren't full speed. However, in the case of the Vikings, any player who goes full speed and accidentally touches Adrian Peterson...will be cut.

Vikings beat writer Dan Wiederer of the Star Tribune sent out the following tweet about Minnesota safey and former Ole Miss Rebel Jamarca Sanford:

Jamarca Sanford on orders given to the D about Adrian Peterson: "The rules are simple. Do not touch 28. If you touch him, you're cut."

Wow. That's the complete opposite of leniency.

Perhaps if the Vikings really want to protect Peterson they shouldn't rush him back to the field. Peterson says he feels good and wants to play. What would you expect him to say? He's an absolute beast and always wants to compete. However, sometimes management needs to tell a player to slow down if it's in his, and the organization's, best interest.
