Louisiana head football coach Mark Hudspeth has made a decision.

Anthony Jennings will be his starting quarterback.

Jennings, who went 9-4 as a starting quarterback at LSU before losing his job to Brandon Harris, outdistanced senior Jalen Nixon and sophomore Jordan Davis in the race to get the start against Boise State on September 3rd.

Hudspeth says he told each of the quarterbacks one on one of his decision.

"Any quarterback (who doesn't get named the starter) is going to be disappointed.  He's such a talented young man," Hudspeth said of Davis.  "He'll continue to develop."

Hudspeth went on to say Jennings' throws have been accurate and on point.  He's been practicing with the first team the last couple of days.  "He's an accurate passer with a strong arm and as quick a release as I've seen."

Hudspeth did not name a #2 quarterback, saying Nixon and Davis were "about even."  He did say Nixon would be used on special teams.
