The injury bug continues to bite the New Orleans Pelicans.

Last night, All-Star Anthony Davis re-injured his right shoulder in a win over the Miami Heat. Davis has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain, and will miss the next 1-2 weeks, the team announced today.

If Davis miss one week, he will be absent from 3 games. If he misses two full weeks, he’ll be absent from 8 games.

Power forward Ryan Anderson, why typically starts in Davis’ place if Anthony is out of the lineup with an injury, will also miss time after suffering a knee injury last night battling for a rebound versus the Heat.

Anderson has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee, and will miss the next 2-4 weeks.

The injuries come at a time when the Pelicans are battling for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Currently trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by 2 games in the standings for the final spot, New Orleans is already playing without starting point guard Jrue Holiday who has been out since early January with a stress reaction in his right leg that he re-aggravated at practice last week.
