INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Luck's heart will always be with the American soccer team.

His second choice at this World Cup is the Brazilians.

In a wide-ranging interview Thursday, the Colts quarterback and avid soccer fan told reporters he's an optimist when it comes to the American chances in Rio de Janeiro but acknowledged it would be "cool" to see the host country win the title — particularly in light of the social turmoil in the country.

Luck has become one of the highest-profile supporters of American soccer. He donned the team's uniforms with teammate Coby Fleener earlier this year, agreed to have his name on a banner to welcome the American team to its training camp at Stanford and attended one of the first pro soccer games played in Indianapolis in April.
