American Pharoah, horse racing's first Triple crown winner in 37 years, has been made, unsurprisingly, the early 6-5 favorite for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, which will be run on Saturday at Keeneland.

The 3-year old, who has earned $5.9 million over his career, has won 6 of 7 races this year, with his lone defeat coming at the Travers two months ago.

Breaking from post position #4 with Victor Espinoza aboard, American Pharoah will retire after the 1 1/4-mile race, which first began in 1984.

Beholder, a 5-year old mare who has won all five of her starts this season, including an impressive win in the TVG Pacific Classic Stakes, is the 3-1 second choice, and will be breaking from the far outside with Gary Stevens aboard.

2014 Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist, and Honor Code are the co-third choices at 6-1, with the former breaking from the #1 position, and the latter breaking from post #9.

Keen Ice (12-1), Frosted (15-1), Gleneagles (20-1), Effinex (30-1), Smooth Roller (15-1), and Hard Aces (50-1) round out the field.

There will be four Breeders' Cup races on Friday, including the Juvenile Turf, Las Vegas Dirt Mile, Juvenile Fillies Turf, and Longines Distaff, with eight more races on Saturday, including the 14 Hands Winery Juvenile Fillies, TwinSpires Turf Sprint, TwinSpires Filly & Mare Sprint, Filly &Mare Turf, TwinSpires Sprint, The Mile, The Sentient Jet Juvenile, The Longines Turf, and The Classic.

Post-time for the Classic is scheduled for 4:35 (CDT).
