The Alabama Crimson Tide are the top team in this week's College Football Playoff rankings, the fourth set of rankings of the year, which were released on Tuesday night.

Alabama, who was number five last week, jump to the top spot this week, after defeating previously undefeated and top-ranked Mississippi St. a 25-20 defeat last Saturday, to improve to 9-1 on the season.

The Oregon Ducks, who were idle last week, remain at number two in the poll, with a 9-1 record.

The Florida St. Seminoles, the only remaining undefeated team from a power five conference, stay in the third spot, following a 30-26 win over Miami (Fl) last Saturday, to improve to 10-0.

Mississippi St., who lost their first game of the year in that setback to Alabama, dropping them to 9-1, fell from the top spot last week to the fourth position this week.

At the end of the season, the top four teams in the College Football Playoff rankings will play in two semifinal games, with the winners advancing to the new College Football Championship Game.

The TCU Horned Frogs, who moved to 9-1 with a 34-30 win over Kansas last Saturday, is fifth this week, after standing at number four last week.

Ohio St., Baylor, Ole Miss, UCLA, and Georgia round out the top ten.

Michigan St., Kansas St., Arizona St., Auburn and Arizona are ranked 11-15, respectively, followed by Wisconsin, Utah, Georgia Tech, USC, and Missouri in the 16-20 spots.

Finally, at 21-25, are Oklahoma, Clemson, Nebraska, Louisville, and Minnesota.
