Two days ago, New Orleans Pelicans general manager Dell Demps traded two starters from last year's team to acquire his free agent prize, Tyreke Evans. Last night, Demps assured that one of last year's starters will be back after inking small forward Al-Farouq Aminu to a one-year deal worth 3.7 million.

Aminu was part of the Chris Paul trade that took place in December of 2011. In two seasons with New Orleans, Aminu has struggled with consistency. At 6-feet-9, 215 pounds, the 22 year old is great at finishing near the rim. However, his outside shooting is awful.

Aminu's strongest attribute is his rebounding, where he averaged a career-high 7.7 rebounds a game last season.

Although he just agreed to the contract last night, Aminu has been participating in the Pelicans' volunteer offseason conditioning program.
