Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns led the nation in scoring during the 2012 season, and continued their offensive barrage Saturday in the NCAA Regional, defeating Stanford 9-3.

Nerissa Myers and Matte Haack each hit grand slam home runs, giving the Cajuns twelve for the season and the crowd of 2476 roared its approval as Louisiana jumped out to a 9-0 lead.

Myers' slam came in the second inning and gave Louisiana a 4-0 lead.  It was all Freshman Jordan Wallace (26-1) would need as she threw a complete game.

But the Cajuns weren't finished as Haack blasted her ninth homer of the season in the fourth to increase the Cajuns lead to 8-0.

Wallace was one out away from ending the game in five innings via the mercy rule, but Stanford All-American Ashley Hansen hit a three run homer with two out in the fifth, necessitating the playing of seven innings.

The Cajuns had 13 hits off Teagen Gerhardt (31-12), with Katie Smith and Natalie Fernandez leading the way with three hits apiece.

The Cajuns and Cardinal will face off again tomorrow at 1pm, with the Cajuns needing just one win to advance to the Super Regional.  Sunday's second game, if necessary, will begin thirty minutes after the conclusion of game one.
